If you speak Spanish
Andar, venir, acabar + gerund and llegar a transfer almost word for word: anda diciendo → anda dizendo, vienen subiendo → vêm subindo, llegó a llorar → chegou a chorar. Three traps: llevar + gerund (llevo dos años estudiando) doesn't exist; say Estudo há dois anos or Venho estudando há dois anos. Seguir + gerund (sigue lloviendo) is continua chovendo. And quedarse + gerund loses the pronoun: se quedó mirando → ficou olhando.
