Falsos amigos en la oficina

B2386 Wörterhumorous first-person anecdote (blog post)Ciudad de México, México — an engineering officeAnhören · bald verfügbar

A Brazilian engineer from Recife tells how her first weeks at an office in Mexico City were full of Portuguese–Spanish false friends: she called herself «embarazada» (pregnant) instead of embarrassed, praised strange sweets as «exquisito», offered to «pegar» (hit) a colleague instead of picking him up and announced she had «tirado» (thrown away) the copies she had made. She regrets nothing: without those slips she would have fewer stories and no office nickname.
