On a cold winter weekend in Campos do Jordão, Paula stays at the inn with a sore throat and a little fever. She calls her husband Edu, who is shopping in the town centre, and asks him to bring her throat lozenges and a warmer jacket. He has just tried on a jacket for himself — too tight, so he’s taking a bigger size — and promises to be back in half an hour.
